The most common type of non-washable slippers are Fleece-Lined, so I’m going to focus on those for this answer.
Regular Cleaning Instructions
Begin by lightly brushing your slippers with a shoe brush, then spot clean as needed with a damp cloth. Rub the spots in a gentle, circular motion. Allow to air dry.
Removing Greasy or Tough Stains
If the spot is greasy or tough to remove with just water add a dab of Dawn dishwasher detergent to the damp cloth and gently work the stain in a circular motion. Rinse lightly with clean water. Pat with a dry cloth and allow it to air dry. Follow this up by lightly brushing the slippers with a shoe brush.
Cleaning Heavily Soiled Slippers
- Using a spritzer bottle with a spray attachment, spray the stained areas quickly using the least amount of water necessary to remove the dirt.
- Blot dry with clean towels, changing the towels as they become soiled.
- Scrunch a towel up and push it inside the slipper, changing often to help the slippers dry.
- Let the slippers air dry away from direct sunlight and heat sources. It will take awhile for the slippers to dry naturally, but if you try to force them be applying heat you will just might ruin them.
