How to Remove Raven Oil from Jodhpurs

jodhpurs

Paula asked: I ride horses and raven oil is used a lot in the show ring for make-up. I have raven oil on my riding jodhpurs. How do I remove it? Thank you.

Raven oil is a dye that goes deep into the grain of the leather. Because of its dye-like qualities, it cannot be removed with simple cleaning methods. It may be lessened by stripping the leather with a leather stripper such as Waproo Stripper. Simply follow the manufacturer’s instructions for application and removal. If the stripper does not take the dye out of the leather, it may be necessary to replace them.

saddle oil in jodpurs

Hi, I have ridden on an oiled leather saddle and the black has stained my jod’s. I have washed them in cold, in the heavy cycle of the machine, and still the black remains.
Any ideas on how to return these to the clean condition they were before I rode in them. This was their first wear. Thanks.
