I have the same question. How to remove the white stain fro the plastic water/icemaker shelf on outside of refrigerator??? Have tried vinegar soaking and soaking in coca cola for long periods of time. Not together, separately. Neither works.

I had my face waxed today and the esthetician dropped a glob in my hair. I found no solutions on the web, but my theatre-education major daughter suggested Goo Gone. Got the job done easily.

Umm... I know it's been a while since anyone has posted, and this may be a little off topic, but what would an oil company executive (or any executive for that matter) know about working on cars? In fact, most of the executives I've met don't really know about anything and are actually quite proud of their ignorance. To be honest, I don't know how they even get their shoes tied in the morning.

OMG! ME TOO! evidently this problem is an epidemic! I lost sleep over this. The oven manufactures should put warning hang tags right on the oven handles so people see it right away, not hidden in the back of the user books. My grandmother and mother used foil on the bottom of their ovens for years with no problems, now in new ovens it melts. We learn from our parents and do what they did so why would anyone think twice about doing this. WHAT A MESS! My new KitchenAid oven KEBS107SBL looked like a gem before this happened. How ironic this is happening to people that really care about keeping their ovens clean and perfect. Now it's no longer perfect and is like a A BAD irreversible JOKE! I am so livid! This is just UNREAL! Foil melting… who would think? No one I asked and know even thought foil could melt. I can't get over it. KithenAid said they don't make a part to replace the bottom liner on my oven. WHAT! This is one of their top of the line ovens. I see where the bolts are and how the liner slides out, how could KitchenAid not make the part? I spent so much money for this oven and it has no part available for replacing the liner. KitchenAid said even if I wanted them to service it and replace it they wouldn't be able to do it because there is NO part for it. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! What if the liner ever cracked or chip? Then you would have to buy a whole new over. This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. I am going to send an official letter to their corporate office about this. I don't know what I am more upset about, the melted foil or KichenAid not having the part and at least giving me that option. UGH!

Okay so we scraped the bottom with a razor blade and it not only took off the foil it also took off enamel with the foil. If anyone is thinking of doing that, don't do that. I should of left it alone and just used the Navel Jelly but I found that advice after the fact. My husband said lets just cover it with a bottom broiler pan. Lowe's has the correct matching color to match the inside of the oven. At least I won't have to look at the bottom mess and remember the horror I went through trying to get the melted foil off. Oh well it's getting covered up now. As for the Drama in my household because of all this… it's not worth the stress and really isn't the end of the world as my mother put it to me :) The oven still works and the outside is beautiful.

You should use Easy Off Heavy Duty Oven Cleaner. I had burnt on water stains around my burners for years and could never get them off. I sprayed on the cleaner and left it overnight. Then just wiped away the stains with a wet paper towel the next morning. I couldn't believe how easy it was to literally wipe away the stains!

Guy's

I used some white spirit to gently wipe off tar, works a treat. Because cars are painted and lacquered then oven baked then lacquer is very hard. I wipe tar off gently, use a polishing compound and the wax to seal the paint. The results speak for themselves! Try it!

You can also use an s.o.s scrubbing pad as well on them! At first I didn't think it would work but a friend of mine proved me wrong by actually showing me! Wow does it ever clean it as well! Works great on bath tubs as well.

My wife nagged me all the time about not helping clean up, even though I always did the snow shoveling, the garbage the lawn mowing, the raking, etc. Even though I worked all week and she only worked weekends. I told her I might be more interested in helping if she put on a french maid costume while we cleaned once in a while --or woke me up with a b.j. or something. Never happened. I could never do enough to please her, and she never did anything that I considered important. She witheld sex, so I got a steady stream of eager younger, hotter volunteers. Now she is my EX, and I live in my own filth elsewhere in peace, she admitted that the house got just as dirty after I moved out...then she admitted she never realized how much yard work and fixing I did. She hired a maid and a kid to do the lawn work, and a handyman to fix things. She's still miserable.

The happiest time of our marriage was when she worked full time at night, and I 'd clean up a bit as soon as she left, and then I 'd go to my mistress(es) house(s) and have lots of sex and good times, and make dirty dishes there, and mess up their beds or go out to eat or ... So I never stayed home long enough to make a dish dirty or mess up the bed. I did the laundry & put mine away and hers & I loosened the already made bed ( I could never make it as tight and perfect as hers.) and she was nicer to me than any other time in the marriage. I will repeat this, to stress the importance: My wife and I were happiest when I was never home to make a mess, cleaned quickly as soon as she left and then went to my mistress.

You can get Naval Jelly from the US ebay website (www.ebay.com) and they will deliver to Aust/NZ. It cost me USD17 including postage. Yet to receive it.

I too have aluminium burnt in on my new Electrolux Pyro oven. I will let you all know if it works.

Has anyone turned the pyro cleaner on after using Naval Jelly or turned it on with the aluminium stuck on?
I would love to know the outcome as I only have a small amount left on at the moment and I'm happy to live with it as long as I can turn my pyro on.

Odyssey batteries are better than optima. They are the same battery that the US army uses in the abrams tank. Sealed gel and a ton of cranking amps. More than the 750 cranking you are used too.

I further the above idea to use a container that has no bottom. Better yet with a cross of plastic in the bottom of the containers to hold each filter in pace while the oil filters.

Or maybe someone has another idea.

Coffee filters? I don't know if they're ok. How big are the perforations in them? Maybe muslin cloth would be better with holes to let oil through and also able to trap particles?

Loved the article and all the comments.

I read through how inept these men are and I wonder if they are so incapable, how do they manage to hold down jobs at all? Try "I forgot" at work multiple times and they would be fired, same with doing something and messing it up so they don't have to do it again. They would be fired.

So don't believe all this men's psyche, can only focus on one task rubbish.

The real reason is they don't want to do it. They want you to do it. So they will play every game to get you to be quiet and do it. It is just disrespect and selfishness on their part.

I have a NY Jersey that must have gotten a spill on it, the jersey is biege and i finally got the yellow stain out where no other cleaners could get it out, but now i have like a white spot there, is there a way to maybe dye that portion of the shirt to a light biege again? Please advise
