Spray Barbasol Shaving Cream on the spot and let stand for a minute or two. Wipe with damp sponge.

The absolutely best product for cleaning rug spots is a two part system by Capture. You lightly spray with a dirt disolver and the rub in with a brush a semi moist powder that sticks to the dirt. After a few minuites you vacuum it all up and the stain is usually gone, definitley lighter. Repeat if necessary. You can buy Capture at hardware stores in the carpet cleaning machine section.

For tough stains on clothes and especially set in carpet stains, the product Kids-n-Pets stain remover works miracles. Carpet stains apply the liquid to a dry white cloth and rub in the spot. Pat dry as you see the stain removing with clean side of the cloth. If stain is really tough pour the product directly onto the carpet and brush in circular motion, later using a clean cloth to pat dry.

Spray with enough hairspray to saturate the spot and let sit for a minute. Blot firmly with a folded up white paper towel or rag. If stain still shows, spray again and scrub lightly in a circular motion and blot. This removed a stubborn grease stain left by a construction worker’s boot, it also removed a chocolate stain from my light gray carpet.

This worked to restore the cleanliness and original color to my yellow synthetic carpets that were deeply traffic stained. Use ordinary rubbing alcohol. Apply liberally with a sponge to a area no bigger than your hand and use a light colored terry washcloth or paper towels to dab it up. Use a fresh portion of the towel as soon as you see the dirt appearing on it. You may need a light brushing with a toothbrush if stain is stubborn. Repeat as necessary. You may want to try this first in a area that is not critical to see how it works. Also useful to remove odors.

If stain is really tough repeat and think of the rubbing up process as a free cardio workout.
