For quick clean up of rugs without dragging out the vacuum cleaner, use a lint roller. Works great.

When I have rugs that are so filthy dirty, I think about throwing aw ay, instead I take them to the car wash. Had two rugs that I thought were brown, after cleaning, they were WHITE. It really works. I was going to throw the rugs out anyway, so had nothing to loose.
