Miracle for Melted Crayon in Clothing

I once discovered a load of clothes that I washed and Dried that there was Red crayon all over the clothes. I had several pieces of clothing that were new in that wash. I was devistated. I thought to call the Tide company and they didn’t have anything to use from their products( this was around 1990) but the nice lady from Tide said to use Ivory Snow baby laundry detergent (powder)and Baking Soda. Use half and half according to size of load. Let clothes soak in Hot water and mixture in washing machine and wash. Every bit came out then I dried.
