Depending on how often you use dryer, but at least once a month:
1)Haul your vacuum cleaner & used plastic grocery bag to dryer
2)Carefully remove lint trap. Usually lifts out.
3)Place screen in bag, take the used static sheet and gently wipe off screen (Its Fragile)
4)Remove Trap from bag; Close bag & hang up for next cleaning until full then discard.
5)Carefully vacuum inside of lint trap exhaust as far as possible. (If you have a compressor or blower, have someone stand by the outside exhaust pipe and FEEL {NOT LOOK} if the air is flowing through it while you blow COOL air into the trap tube.)
6)Use of dryer sheets leave clogging residue on delicate, tiny screen holes, so haul vacuum & Lint Trap, near outside door; on the way, place the lint trap into the dishwasher and run it through a complete cycle, bottom toward spray source, and as far from drying cycle heat source as possible. Remove when thoroughly dry, replace in dryer and run a short dryer cycle. Why? To be sure it thoroughly drys and doubly prevents rusting.
7)Find outside Dryer Exhaust tube and clean\vacuum it out as much as possible.Usually it has a air deflector attachment which may be removable.
8)Reassemble deflector and return vacuum to its parking garage.
CONGRATULATIONS!! You took a max. approximately, of 15 minutes and possibly prevented your home from burning down!!! Clogged dryer lint exhausts are a source of fire danger!

Save the plastic wrappers from the paper towel roll and toilet paper rolls in a larger plastic bag near the washer. Tear the paper towel wrapper in half and bunch it up. Take the dryer screen to the wastebasket and rub with the plastic wrapping until all the lint is removed from both sides. The stiffness of the plastic makes it an easy job. Clean dryer screen prior to each use. If you are starting this process with a very dirty screen, soak it in a wastbasket of warm, soapy water for about 15 minutes, then use a stiff scrub brush/nail brush to remove the lint. Rinse all the soap from the screen and allow to air dry overnight prior to use.
