I have marble surrounding my fireplace which had tape residue from Christmas. We used WD-40, waited a few minutes, washed with soapy water using some minor scrubbing and off the sticky stuff went. Thank you for the tip!

We had foam bumpers on the marble edges of our fireplace hearth - for over 10 years (worried husband). It as held on with stickied Velcro. The Velcro peeled off easy enough. The WD40 worked faster than the veg oil, tho the oil may have been as effective if I had more patience. I did use a razor scraper to get off the bulk of the glue and a soft cloth rubbing to remove the residue. The black marble looks perfect. thanks!
