My inside kitchen garbage can always has a liner in it so it isn’t really dirty to begin with, but once I was cleaning it and just took it outside, filled with water and some bleach and immersed the dish drainer and let it sit awhile. Both came so clean! It saves flicking bleach all over the kitchen trying to disinfect the drainer. (As we get older any help is great!)
Instead of using a bucket when washing my floors, I use the plastic garbage can. You kill two birds with one stone!
My trash can has a removable hard plastic liner in it, so when I have to clean the inside I take it out and spray it with a cleaner that also has a disinfectant in it. I let it sit for a few minutes, then rinse it with water. I usually try to do this outside so that I can use the hose and not make a mess in the house. To clean the outside of the can and keep it looking shiny, I spray it with Clorox Anywhere Hard Surface Daily Sanitizing Spray and wipe it clean with a paper towel. It’s so easy, I do it every day.
