Hair weaves can get dry and brittle if not treated with care. When choosing products to use for your hair weave, choose products that are gentle.
Hair weaves are attached to your hair not your scalp but they can still hides dirt and bacteria if placed in short hair close to your scalp. When washing your hair weave don’t forget the scalp area underneath.
Wash at least once a week or every 7-14 days and when washing at home follow the natural direction of your hair.
There are a good number of choices in types of hair that can be used in hair weaves. To care for your hair weave properly make sure you know the type of hair that was used and ask you stylist for the best way to care for it at home.
You probably already wash your hair after swimming but now you need to make absolutely sure you do. The chlorine in the pool will dry your hair weave out causing damage to both the weave and your own hair.
Don’t pull or tug on your hair while washing, it will pull the weave loose. Rub the shampoo in your hands and gently squeeze into your hair. Wash your scalp separately.
Opt for a spray on or leave on conditioner for extra protection against drying and brittle hair.
