Genny asked: Hi, I am wondering if there is something I can use to remove grass stains from my sidewalk. My grass looks beautiful, and the sidewalk bright and white, except where I ran over it with the lawn mower, green wheel marks up and down the sidewalk – very unsightly. Thanks in advance.
Grass stains show up everywhere, on shoes, clothes and even sidewalks. Fortunately, they can be removed with a little scrubbing and the right cleaners. Follow the guidelines below to get your sidewalks looking white and bright again.
Removing Mild Grass Stains

- Begin by sweeping away any loose grass or dirt.
- Combine the washing soda or detergent with water in the bucket.
- Pour some of the sudsy water on top of the stained area.
- Scrub smaller areas with a scrub brush. For larger areas, it will be helpful to utilize a sturdy broom with stiff bristles to scrub.
- Apply more washing soda/detergent as needed and scrub until the stain is removed.
- Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
- Allow to dry completely.
