How to Wash Hair Extensions

You can wash human hair extensions in the same manner as which you wash your hair. Choose products that are provided by your stylists or low in ph. Do not pull or tug while washing and dry naturally.

Washing hair extensions

I have had clip in extensions and i now have proper hair extensions with bonded glue.
Clip ins are fine to wash, its best to put lots of conditioner on them, rinse them out and leave them to dry naturally.

In terms of real hair extensions, you do just wash them like your normal hair, but try to avoid really lathering up your hair. I find it best to separate my hair so i wash the top quarter separate and then with my hair extensions just gently run shampoo though it with my fingers and then the same with conditioner.
Its okay to wash near the route but try not to get so much shampoo and product on the top bit because it can make the glue go soft.

I usually let my hair dry naturally, this will keep the hair extensions nicer for longer without them going frizzy on the ends.

Also when i sleep i tend to plat my hair to one side to stop it getting all mattered.

Hope this helps :)

Hair extensions

Hi you wash them the same way as your own hair but you leave to dry naturally.
Here are some top tips:
Brush while they have shampoo/conditioner in.
Leave to dry naturally
Platt for curls instead of tounges.
Wash every week
Use yoghurt it makes it smooth
Use natural shampoo and conditioner
Warm water.
Brush every day
Put somewhere like on a mannequins head
Dont dry with hair dryer.
Enjoy your hair!! if you need to know anything else ask me!! :D

extensions

i’ve worn hair extensions for three years, if you have clip in hair extensions washing your hair extensions to much can be a problem since they don’t have natural oils like your real hair does they may dry out and fray easily, i suggest you wash your clip in hair extensions once every three weeks if you wear them everyday only use condition and pay dry DO NOT use a blow drier, if you are not wearing your extensions every day you can let your hair extensions go even longer. If you are going to do loots of straightening or curling to your hair i suggest using a heat protection product. if you have clip ins do not sleep with them in for tossing and turning will damage your real hair. For bonded hair extensions, its fine to wash your hair as normal dont put conditioner near the glue this will soften the glue, braid your bonded extensions before bed, knots will also loosin the glue, when brushing either bonded or clip in hair extensions while in your head hold towards the top as (where a hair elastic would go)and brushh lightly this way you are not loosing them from your scalp. air dry.

I am getting hair extension sewened in and they are going to be curly to match my regular hair.. how do I take care of them wht type of product should I use… and how do I keep the curls in without them getting messed up.. can I brush the extensions? If anyone knows any thing I can do but get backkk thankssss so muchh

Moose

Hello Erica and Jessica,
you dont use moose because it ruins them. I thing that its better if you wash them and then platt them. I think that you should use shampoo that has yoghourt mixed in or you could add yoghurt yourself, as yoghurt makes hair smoother and gives you more of a natural colour.

okay first thing u do is u run them under cold water then use a mild shampoo to wash them like pantene or pretty much anything then u let them natrally dry by themself make sure when u take them out you be careful and dont twist them to get the water out just start from the top and move ur hand downwards holding with a firm grip

Sleek hair extensions

Hi guys

I am planning on buying some human hair extensions, the name brand is sleek. However every time i buy hair extensions without fail they manage to go frizzy and horrible and i am not sure what i am doing wrong.
I was them with normal conditioning shampoo and condition and then air dry them.
I want to exercises and go clubbing in them also ( they will be weaved on) but after just one clubbing session they end up matted and dry and totally ruined as i sweat quite alot.
Any advice on how best to maintain them daily and after clubbing and exercise would be much appreciated thank you x

washing clip in extensions

im getting real hair clip in extensions but i was wondering when washing them should i keep them clipped into my hair or just lay them down and wash them ?

Lauren June 21, 2010 at 9:47 am

Washing them.

Hello Jasmine,
When you wash hair extensions take them out of your hair. They might get tangled up in your hair and plus you might want to use a hair dryer. If you are hoping to go out in them its best to wash them a couple of days before. Make sure that you keep them in a tidy place where they wont get dirty. Good Luck! <3 :)

Sleek hair extensions- Becki

Hey Becki,
I have worn hair extensions for a long time now and i know a lot about them. If your going clubbing then you will need to have your hair extensions in tip top condition. If i were you i would put shockwaves moose on before you go. Use natural yogurt instead of normal shampoo and conditioner. This will smoothen the extensions and make them smell and look nice. They will be nicer for longer remember to rinse the yogurt out afterwards. DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT go to the gym in them. They make them sweaty and smelly and also frizzy. If i were you i would leave your hair extensions at home. Unless you want frizzy extensions dont take them. Dry Naturally x Good Luck! :)

How long can i get out of washing them

Hi i wear my clip in human extensions 6 days a week to school and going out but i have had them for 3 weeks and havent washed them. They have gotten wet from the rain but thats about all. They dont feel gross or anything.
Do you reckon i could get away with washing them ?

Sewn in Extensions or Clip in Extensions ?

Hi .
I was just wondering which type of extensions are better for my hair and in general ? I am African – American so I have that type of hair & i was just wondering which kind of extensions are better for my type of hair . How do you wash extensions ? and do you wash extensions with your natural hair like how you would wash your hair in the shower ? Are they expensive ? Do they fall out easily like during gym or sports practice ? Could sewn in extensions take out your hair and give you bald spots ? Would it be obvious that i’m wearing extensions ? How do you take care of your hair with extensions ? What’s the difference between human hair extensions, clip ins, glue ins, & sewn ins ? Ik im asking alot but can anyone answer these questions ?
