FAQ

» You’re telling me that you donate .25¢ to the Clean Water Fund for every single cleaning tip that gets submitted?

No. We donate .25¢ for every tip that gets published. Our editors must review, edit (if needed), and approve every tip before it will appear on the site. We do this for several reasons:

  • So you don’t have to waste your time digging through spam and duplicate tips.
  • To correct any grammatical, spelling, or factual errors.
  • To remove anything potentially dangerous or illegal.
  • To remove spiteful, hateful, profane, or otherwise unhelpful posts.

» How many cleaning tips can I submit?

As many as you would like. There are no limits at all.

» How and when are the donations made?
Donations for the each month are calculated at the beginning of the following month by multiplying the total number of tips that have been posted to the site over that time period by .25¢. The donations are then made directly to the Clean Water Fund through their website.

» How do I know you’re not lying? Can you provide proof of the donations?

Yes. Monthly stats along with an electronic copy of the scanned receipt for each previous month will be provided on the stats page.

» So where do I go to submit my tip?
First search through the site to find the page where your tip belongs, then at the bottom of the page you will find a form which you can use to submit your tip. If we don’t yet have a page devoted to the subject of your cleaning tip, please let us know and we’ll get one up! Submit new ideas with this form.
