Terry asked: How do I clean polyester microstretch? I have a new men’s suit that is 100% polyester micro touch stretch fabric. How should it be cleaned?

Polyester microstretch is a quality fabric, and requires the care and gentle cleaning of dry cleanings. When it comes to suits, it’s best to have them professionally cleaned. If you wish to try it at home, follow these steps using an at-home dry cleaning kit.

You Will Need:

  • Dryel Starter Kit
  • Clothes dryer

Steps to Clean the Garment:

  1. Place your garment in the fabric protection bag along with a moist cloth (both included in starter kit).
  2. Steam the garment by tumbling the bag in the dryer.
  3. As soon as the cycle has finished, remove the bag from the dryer. Take the garment out of the bag and hang it up, smoothing out any wrinkles immediately.

Additional Tips and Advice

  • Read home dry clean instructions carefully. If your garment is damaged or has embellishments, you may need to take it to a dry cleaner for advice, repair, or cleaning.

Help! I mistakenly threw a 100% polyester jacket in the dryer and the ribbing is all stretched out in several places. I tried getting it wet again and laying it flat to dry, but that didn’t help at all. What can I do to restore the elasticity to the ribbing??
