Atkinson asked: I have two scuff marks on my purple, suede boots. What should I do to get rid of them to make them look good as new?

Suede shoes require only a few key materials to keep them in good condition. Removing the scuff marks are no different. Here are the steps to remove them and restore your shoes to their original state.

You Will Need:

  • Suede brush
  • Rubber cleaning stone

Steps to Remove the Scuff Marks:

  1. Both suede brushes and rubber cleaning stones are often found in suede cleaning kits. These kits are inexpensive and readily available at any shoe store.
  2. Rub the brush back and forth over the scuff mark to remove the mark and restore the nap of the suede.
  3. If the mark remains, rub the surface with the rubber cleaning stone. This will “erase” the scuff mark from the surface.

Additional Tips and Advice

  • If the scuff marks are severe, it may require suede cleaner as well. This is also available from stores where suede shoes are sold.
