Andrew asked: How do I clean spray paint off of metal with soda? I want to clean it off of a sheet of steel.

Baking soda has a variety of uses throughout the home and that number keeps expanding. With it being one of the most popular “green” cleaners, it can safely remove all kinds of build up and grime without introducing harsh chemicals into the environment. For those that are interested in this newest cleaning method called “soda blasting,” read on.

Soda Blasting

Soda blasting is a new green method for removing stains from almost any surface. It is effective and safer than sand blasting. Soda blasting uses compressed air to blast baking soda onto the surface to be cleaned. The process is similar to sand blasting, but is not as harsh on the material being cleaned or the environment. The abrasion from the impact of the baking soda removes the paint or other debris. It works on delicate surfaces such as glass up to more sturdy surfaces including wood and metal. It has even been safe to use on cars and machinery. The machines for this kind of cleaning are available for rent. For additional information, see The Soda Works.
